TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) — Federal authorities have announced the arrest in Ohio of an activist accused of spending for personal use some $200,000 in donations to what was represented as a Black Lives Matter charity.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation said Sir Maejor Page, previously known as Tyree Conyers-Page, was arrested Friday in Toledo and charged with one count of wire fraud and two counts of money laundering in connection with money donated to a purported Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta group.
The Toledo Blade reports that 32-year-old Page and his organization were highly visible in summer protests.
A message was sent Saturday to his attorney seeking comment.
