INDIANAPOLIS — Three homicide investigations in 24-hours. That is what Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives are dealing with.

The third case unfolded Friday afternoon on the city's west side when a person was found dead in an alley behind a house in the 1400 block of West Pruitt Street. That's near North Harding Street and Burdsal Parkway.

At the scene, police had very little information to share. IMPD Public Information Officer Michael Hewitt said the victim suffered some type of trauma.

Robert Larry Owens, 32, was killed in the incident Marion County Deputy Coroner Alfie Ballew said in an email. No results from the autopsy are available.

There have been no arrests and police are asking for the public's help in gathering information about this death.

About 16-hours earlier, an adult male was found shot to death at a gas station on the city's north side, at East 30th Street and North College Avenue.

And at mid-afternoon Thursday, a person was found shot to death in a residential neighborhood near Eagle Creek Reservoir.
