ANDERSON — An 18-year-old is charged with neglect after his infant daughter was treated for multiple broken bones and a brain bleed.

Justin Dickey was arrested after police say he brought his 2-month-old daughter to the hospital covered in bruises and suffering from multiple broken bones.

According to court documents, DCS was called to Peyton Manning Hospital to investigate because of the extent of the infant's injuries.

Those court documents state Dickey initially said he had dropped his daughter, but later changed his story, saying he" gripped her too hard" because she wouldn't stop crying and go to sleep. He told detectives he "blacked out" and only remembers spanking his daughter "too hard" and "squeezing her face too hard."

The infant suffered multiple injuries including bruising to her face, ears, arms, buttocks, thighs and abdomen, broken bones in her back, a fractured leg and bleeding on the brain. X-rays also found prior injuries to the infant's bones and visible healing.

Dickey is charged with neglect of a dependent, domestic battery and criminal recklessness.

The case remains under investigation.
