Arrest made in murder south of Indianapolis

BROWNSTOWN — A 30-year-old man is under arrest following an early-morning murder south of Indianapolis in Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Department says deputies were called to a house in the eastern part of Jackson County just after 5:30 a.m. Wednesday. That's about 60-miles south of Indianapolis.

There, they found a man who had been shot to death.

Deputies questioned a witness and the man suspected in the murder. Tobias Au of Hope, Indiana in neighboring Bartholomew County was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail in Brownstown.

The name of the victim has not been released, and investigators have not said what prompted the shooting.

More information is expected to be announced Thursday.
