INDIANAPOLIS -- A former Ben Davis High School teacher accused of having a months-long sexual relationship with a student entered a plea of guilty to two counts of child seduction in Marion County court Thursday.

Robert Chin, 40, was arrested in April after an 18-year-old Ben Davis student told police she had been having “more than just a student-teacher relationship” with Chin since the fall of 2015.

The girl said the relationship had turned physical several months before her 17th birthday, and that she had met Chin on multiple occasions at the Clarion Hotel and Baymont Inn for sex.

The student also told police that she would send nude photos of herself to Chin over text and Snapchat because he requested them.

Chin initially told police that he and the student were just "really good friends" and they had a "super relationship," but he eventually admitted to having sex with the student on multiple occasions, including before she turned 18.

On Thursday, Chin entered a plea of guilty to two counts of child seduction where a child care worker engages in fondling or touching with a child 16-17 years old.

The plea agreement calls for Chin to receive no more than a six-year sentence, with the details of that sentence otherwise left open to the judge.

As of Friday afternoon, the plea agreement had not yet been accepted by the judge.

A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Nov. 30 at 11 a.m.
