BOONE COUNTY — The Boone County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help to locate a man wanted for a parole violation.

John Baldwin Sr. reportedly violated his parole on a 2018 case where he was arrested for allegedly threatening to cut a man's throat. Police say he was found asleep in a hotel room next to "multiple packets of heroin."

Baldwin was identified by the prosecutor's office as one of the men who ran from police during the incident that led to the deadly shooting of Boone County Deputy Jacob Pickett.

His son, John Baldwin Jr., is charged with murder in the case. That case is not connected to the parole violation.

Police have not said what Baldwin did to violate his parole, but they would like anyone who might know where he is to contact the sheriff's office at 765-482-1412 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
