NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- A man shot by police last week in New Castle, Indiana died Tuesday morning.
Officers with the New Castle Police Department were called to a house in the 1000 block of Church Street around 9:45 on Oct. 29, on a report of a man with a large knife chasing a woman in a yard.
Two officers responded, with one encountering the man and woman. The man stabbed the woman in the neck, and the officer fired at him, police say.
The female victim was taken to Henry Community Health Hospital, then flown to an Indianapolis hospital with serious injuries.
The suspect, Brandon Lee Flowers, 41, had life-threatening injuries. He was also hospitalized in Indianapolis, where he died on Nov. 7.
Police believe the suspect and victim knew each other, and had a dispute before the fight.
No officers were hurt in the incident. The Indiana State Police continue to investigate.
