INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a body was found burning outside a home on Indianapolis' east side early Wednesday morning.
Firefighters were called to a home on N. Drexel Avenue sometime after 6 a.m. for a report of a fire in the rear of the home. When they arrived they found the scene and determined that someone had covered a body with items and tried to set it on fire.
The Marion County Coroner identified the victim as Cruz Ball, 32. Authorities are awaiting test results before determining a cause of death.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to take over the investigation.
