HAMMOND, IN — A death investigation is underway in a northwest Indiana city after human skeletal remains were found on Tuesday evening.
Hammond Police Department officers were called to Marble Street, near State Line Avenue, where a man was walking his dog and came upon skeletal remains near a wooded path.
Officers were able to identify the remains as human.
The identity and cause of death is an on-going investigation. The exact age of the remains is also yet to be determined.
