SPRINGVILLE — If there's one universal truth, it's that the annual Gathering of the Juggalos will produce debauchery.
And according to statistics provided by Indiana State Police, the four-day music festival held last week at Lawrence County Recreational Park in Springville did indeed get crazy.
ISP said there were 79 criminal arrests, including 19 felony arrests, from Wednesday through Saturday at the 20th annual festival that is organized by rap group Insane Clown Posse and includes concerts, a wrestling tournament and thousands of people wearing clown makeup.
ISP said the majority of arrests were drug-related. Among the drugs that were seized included heroin, LSD, methamphetamine, marijuana and laughing gas.
There were also three arrests for operating while intoxicated and 81 traffic tickets issued. Other than the drug arrests, ISP said it responded to no other major incidents during the event.
"The lack of any major crashes or incidents during the event held that an increased police presence at such events helps ensure the safety of all involved," ISP Sgt. Greg Day said in a release.
