INDIANAPOLIS -- Hoosier families caught in the opioid crisis now have a new resource to help.
The Addiction Policy Forum just launched an Indiana chapter. The chapter's goals: legislative change, family support, and reducing the stigma of addiction.
For Sean Kovatch, his problem began with a work injury, and was prescribed opiate-based narcotics for a long period of time.
"You get to the point where nothing's worth anything at all anymore," Kovatch said. "I didn't think I had any fight left in me. And I was resolved to dying a young man."
He got so desperate, his father even moved in with him.
Helping Hoosier families impacted by the opioid crisis is one focus of the new statewide effort.
