Father wanted for questioning in 8-year-old daughter's shooting taken into custody by IMPD

INDIANAPOLIS — The father of an 8-year-old girl who died after being shot back in March is now in custody.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit and the United States Marshalls arrested Kendall Brye, 40, just after noon on Monday, May 13. Brye was taken into custody without incident.

Brye was wanted for questioning in the death of his daughter, Kendrielle, who was dropped off at a fire station on March 24, suffering from a gunshot wound. Kendrielle later died at the hospital.

Police had been searching for Brye since Kendrielle's death. No other details about his arrest or possible chares he may face have been released.
