INDIANAPOLIS — Five people were shot in a series of shootings across the city late Sunday into early Monday, according to police.
According to reports from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were first called to the 600 block of Udell Street just after 9 p.m. Sunday on report of a person shot. The victim was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, police said.
Minutes later officers were called to the 600 block of Eugene Street on report of another man shot. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition, police said. Police are investigating whether the shootings are related.
Police said shortly after 1 a.m. Monday officers were called to a Shell gas station in the 7200 block of North Michigan Road on report of two people shot. The victims were taken to a hospital in serious condition. The circumstance surrounding the shooting remains under investigation.
A fifth person was shot in the 8100 block of South Emerson Avenue, police said. Officers learned of the shooting after they were called to St. Francis South Hospital on a report of a person shot. The victim is stable, police said.
All of the shootings remain under investigation.
