NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- A Hamilton County judge found former Indianapolis Colts fullback Roosevelt Potts guilty of domestic battery following a one-day bench trial on Tuesday.
Potts was charged in August 2016 with domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon for allegedly slashing a woman with a knife in his home in Fishers.
Fishers police arrived to Potts’ home to find him sitting on the curb outside. Inside the residence, police found a woman with two large slashes on her right shoulder blade.
On Tuesday, Hamilton County Judge William Hughes ruled Potts was guilty of domestic battery by means of a deadly weapon, a level 5 felony with a sentencing range of 1-6 years and an advisory sentence of three years.
A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Sept. 28 at 2:00 p.m.
Potts played for the Indianapolis Colts from 1993-1997, followed by brief stints with the Miami Dolphins and the Baltimore Ravens.
