INDIANAPOLIS — A former Warren Central High School teacher and coach has been sentenced in a sexual misconduct case.

30-year-old Brittany Mang, who taught Spanish and coached softball, received a 15-year sentence. 10 of those years will be served in prison, with three more in community corrections and two on probation.

Mang pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual misconduct with a minor. A probable cause affidavit from the Marion County County Prosecutor said Mang has sex with a 15-year-old Warren Central student.

The investigation began when the student's mother notified the Indiana Department of Child Services that she had found text messages between her daughter and Mang that were sexual in nature.

The victim's mother told a detective she was afraid of what was going on because she had allowed her daughter to spend significant time with Mang, including several overnights and a four-day visit at Mang's Hamilton County home.

Mang had been at Warren Central for three-years and resigned after the case unfolded.
