SULLIVAN COUNTY — The death of a 32-year-old inmate at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility is being investigated as a homicide, according to Indiana State Police.
Jeremiah Roberts was found unresponsive in his cell on the Sunday morning. An ambulance was called and Roberts was rushed to the hospital, but he died before arriving, according to ISP.
Investigators suspect foul play in Roberts' death and they are treating it as a homicide. An autopsy is scheduled for May 5 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.
According to state police, Roberts had been incarcerated within the Department of Corrections since January of 2017.
No other information about his death or possible cause have been released at this time.
