Group of teens arrested after violent carjacking, crash on Indianapolis' east side

INDIANAPOLIS — A group of teens are in custody after they assaulted someone before stealing their vehicle and later crashing into multiple parked cars.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of N. State Avenue just before 3 a.m. Monday for a report of a carjacking. Police say the victims were assaulted during the incident, their injuries are unknown at this time.

A short time later, police located the stolen vehicle after they say it crashed into at least two cars parked on the street. At least three juveniles were taken into custody at the scene.

Police say none of the juveniles were injured when they crashed.
