Hendricks County man sentenced in Illinois murder

HENDRICKS CO. — A Hendricks County man who admitted to killing his former girlfriend in Illinois knows how long he'll spend in jail.

A Clark County, Illinois judge sentenced Connor Scott to 37 years in prison, followed by three years of probation.

In February, Scott told Danville, Indiana police he was responsible for the 2014 death of Kaylan Whitaker in Martinsvillie, Illinois.

Scott will not be eligible for early release.

Whitaker's family says they are relieved justice has been served.
