Husband in custody for wife's shooting at Brownsburg home

BROWNSBURG, Ind. -- A 6-year-old boy witnessed his mother being shot by her husband early Wednesday morning in Brownsburg, Indiana, police say.

The shooting happened sometime before 5 a.m., at a house near the intersection of William Drive and Alpha Avenue.

The man and woman started arguing around 4 a.m., waking up the 6-year-old in the same room. Shortly after, the woman was shot. 

Brownsburg police have taken the victim's husband, Kenneth Bolin, 34, into custody in connection with the shooting. 

The couple's other son, age 13, was also in the house at the time of the shooting. The call for help came from the 13-year-old.

The woman was taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition. She is undergoing surgery.
