IMPD homicide detectives make arrest in 2018 murder

INDIANAPOLIS — Homicide detectives announced that they made an arrest in the shooting death of an Indianapolis man last year on March 30.

Gregory Harris, 28, was pronounced dead by EMS personnel on the scene at the 3000 block of East 35th Street. This was one of two shootings that resulted in the death of two men - hours apart.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department canvassed the are immediately after responding to the scene and spoke with potential witnesses. During the course of the investigation, detectives developed a probable cause for the suspect arrested on Saturday, March 16 by Lawrence Police Department. The suspect was later transferred to Marion County Jail.

The IMPD ended 2018 with a homicide clearance rate of 64 percent, 20 percent higher than 2017.
