INDIANAPOLIS — It has been a violent night across Indianapolis.
Aaron Hamer, a public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, said five people were shot within an hour of each other Friday night, in addition to a man who was shot by police after IMPD said he showed a gun during a traffic stop on the northeast side.
Here is a roundup of what is known so far.
- A man is in critical condition after he was shot just before 9 p.m. in the 7800 block of Dogwood Drive.
- A boy is in critical, but stable, condition after he was shot just after 9 p.m. in the 1400 block of County Line Road.
- Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Senate Boulevard just before 10 p.m. after receiving word of a person who was shot. They found a man with a gunshot wound, but it is not known where in the city he was shot. He is in stable condition.
- Two people were shot just before 10 p.m. in the 2800 block of N. Graham Avenue. One man was shot in the leg and is in stable condition, while the other person's condition is not known.
