IMPD looking for vehicle driven in hit-and-run crash that killed 1-year-old boy

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for help identifying the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 1-year-old boy and seriously injured his 9-year-old sister.

According to a report from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14 in the 1600 block of Nelson Avenue. The driver in the vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Nelson Avenue and turned south onto South State Street, according to IMPD.

Police said medics transported the 1-year-old, identified as Eli Anders, to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead. His sister was hospitalized in serious condition following the crash.

IMPD released a video of the vehicle obtained by investigators. The vehicle is the second lighter colored vehicle that turns right.
