INDIANAPOLIS — A male is dead after a shooting on the west side of Indianapolis Monday afternoon, police said.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 6100 block of Beachview Drive around 12:17 p.m.
When officers arrived, they located "what is believed to be an adult," male victim with gunshot injuries inside an apartment, police said. The victim was pronounced deceased on scene.
Homicide detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation.
Police told WRTV that they found the victim on Monday, however, they believe the victim was already deceased for several days.
