INDIANAPOLIS — A man was shot late Tuesday night during a fight at a Marathon gas station on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Officers responded to a shooting in the 8000 block of East 42nd Street just before midnight. They found a man who appeared to be shot, and he was taken to an area hospital in stable condition.

An IMPD public information officer said an altercation took place between at least a couple people, which led to gunshots being fired. A U-Haul vehicle suspected to be involved was found at East 30th Street and North Richardt Avenue.

Aggravated assault detectives are investigating the case, IMPD said.

Tuesday's incident happened about a mile-and-a-half west of Friday's shooting that killed Nicholas and Ashlynn Nelson, a pair of siblings who were shot inside their home in the 4100 block of Windhill Drive.
