INDIANAPOLIS — IMPD detectives have arrested 49-year-old Paul Turner for his alleged involvement in a shooting on Tuesday, leaving two victims in critical condition.
According to IMPD, officers were dispatched to the 100 block of South Randolph Street just before 6 p.m.
Officers found two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. IMPD said officers identified Turner as a suspect and took him into custody as they were providing emergency aid for the victims.
Through the investigation, detectives believe a disturbance took place between Turner and the victims, which ultimately led to the shooting. Detectives also believe that Turner and one of the victims are known acquaintances.
Investigators found multiple shell casings, a rifle and a handgun while investigating the scene. Turner has been arrested for aggravated battery and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.
The case is now in the hands of the Marion County Prosecutor's Office, which will make the final charging decision.
