Posted

INDIANAPOLIS -- An Indianapolis woman is facing felony OWI charges for allegedly driving four young children around on Halloween night while intoxicated.

Police were called to the 5100 block of Hillside Avenue after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday evening on a report of a possibly intoxicated woman who had become upset at a resident.

According to the incident report, police believeLongmire, 45, was driving four children – ages 9, 10, 11 and 13 – around to trick or treat when one of the homeowners they approached told the kids it was after hours.

Trick or treating in Indianapolis ran from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The homeowner told police that Longmire became upset and approached them in an aggressive manner.

Police arrived and performed a field sobriety test on Longmire, which she reportedly failed.

Longmire refused to submit to a chemical test, at which point police placed her under arrest and received a search warrant to perform a blood draw.

On Thursday, prosecutors filed formal charges against Longmire of operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person less than 18 years old, a level 6 felony, along with operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person and battery.

Marion County Jail records show Longmire was released on Thursday on her own recognizance.
