LAWRENCE COUNTY — Troopers from the Bloomington post of the Indiana State Police have arrested five people following a lengthy investigation into child solicitation.

According to a report from Indiana State Police, the investigation began in early December 2020 when a trooper received information from a concerned citizen in Lawrence County. The tipster reported that multiple adult males had allegedly solicited an individual who they believed to be a 15-year-old girl to commit sexual acts with them.

Troopers said the investigation involved numerous search warrants and the analysis of electronic communications between the suspects and victim.

On Thursday evening, troopers served five arrest and search warrants simultaneously across the region. Troopers said evidence seized during the execution of the search warrants is being analyzed for the possibility of other offenses.

Troopers arrested a 58-year-old man from Coal City, a 25-year-old man from Mitchell, a 35-year-old man from Bloomington, a 47-year-old man from Bloomington, and a 24-year-old man from Paoli. All five are being held in the Lawrence County Jail on suspicion of child solicitation, a level 4 felony.
