HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Indiana -- Indiana State Police are investigating the death of a 19-year-old inmate who was found in medical distress in his cell at the Huntington County Jail Tuesday night.
At 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, jail officers were called to the cell of 19-year-old Dakota M. Pratt, of Huntington, Indiana. Officers found Pratt lying on the floor in medical distress with labored breathing.
Pratt was transported to a hospital in Fort Wayne, where he was pronounced dead Wednesday night.
The Huntington County Sheriff’s Department subsequently requested Indiana State Police conduct an investigation into the death.
According to a release from ISP, foul play was not suspected in Pratt’s death.
An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday morning.
