Juvenile shot in the face, two other juveniles being questioned in Frankfort

FRANKFORT — Police are investigating after a juvenile was shot in the face during an incident in Frankfort Tuesday morning.

A 13-year-old has been detained pending formal charges after they allegedly shot another juvenile, according to a press release from police.

Frankfort Police Department officers responded with EMS to the 300 block of West Green Street for a report of a juvenile male who had been shot in the lower facial area, according to a release from the department. The juvenile was airlifted to Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment.

Officers determined three juveniles were hanging out when one juvenile grabbed a gun from a bedroom and shot the juvenile, according to the release.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident and there is not any danger to the public.

The shooting remains under investigation.
