JENNINGS COUNTY — A man has been arrested in connection with a gruesome case in Jennings County where a dozen dogs were found dead at the side of the road in southern Indiana.
Jennings County investigators say a mother was driving her children home from school on February 28, 2018 when she saw made the grisly discovery.
Detectives say the dogs were beaten and shot before being dumped at the side of the road and left for dead.
The dogs' owner told detectives that they had given the animals to Cody Kreutzjans, 20, but it wasn't until detectives tested a key piece of evidence that they were able to tie him to the dog's deaths.
The case remains under investigation.
Kreutzjans is charged with 10 felony counts of torturing or mutilating an animal.
