INDIANAPOLIS — One man has been arrested in connection with a double shooting that left a man dead and a woman in critical condition.
Dallas Jones, 28, was arrested by homicide detectives and is currently charged with murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a violent felon.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to the 3300 block of N. Sherman Drive on the afternoon of June 12 for a person who had been shot. Arriving crews found a woman suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim told police that the shooting had taken place in the 2900 block of N. Dearborn Street and she was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
At the N. Dearborn Street location, IMPD officers found a man lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. That man was later identified as Albert Germany Jr.
Jones is charged in connection with German's murder but does not face any charges in connection with the woman's shooting at this time. It is unclear what the circumstances surrounding those shootings were and IMPD has not released any additional details.
"This is yet another example of the hard work and long hours our detectives dedicate to these cases," IMPD said in their release. "We encourage the community to continue to support IMPD with information. This helps build a stronger foundation in combatting the criminal element that threatens our community."
