Man arrested in connection with multiple robberies across Indy

INDIANAPOLIS — Police have arrested a man accused of robbing multiple businesses across the city of Indianapolis.

Anthony Johnson, 28, was arrested on April 13 after Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a suspicious person. During the course of the investigation, police found active warrants for Johnson on a parole violation and robberies involving a knife.

Police say Johnson also matched they physical description from multiple other robberies in teh area and took him in for questioning. Johnson was interviewed by Indianapolis and Lawrence police detectives and eventually confessed to multiple other robberies including.

Johnson is facing multiple charges including criminal confinement with a deadly weapon, resisiting law enforcement and armed robbery.

The case remains under investigation by IMPD and the Lawrence Police Department.
