LAFAYETTE — Police said a Lafayette man tried to rob a convenience store while his brother was working there as a clerk.
42-year-old Shawn Yoakum ended up in police custody.
The incident happened at the Village Pantry on North 14th Street in Lafayette.
Lafayette police say Yoakum had a knife and demanded money from the two employees who were there. One was his brother.
The clerks closed a glass shield that protects the checkout area and Yoakum left empty-handed.
It didn't take police long to find him in a nearby alley behind his house. He faces charges of attempted robbery and resisting law enforcement.
