INDIANAPOLIS — A 29-year-old man was charged with murder Thursday in the killing of a teenage boy in April 2019.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office charged Dewayne Harris with murder, felony murder, robbery and felony firearm possession. Harris allegedly shot and killed Leandre Lane, 17, on April 7, 2019, in the 3400 block of North Franklin Road.
Lane's friend told police the two were walking along Franklin Road when someone drove by and fired gun at them.
Lane's death occurred during one of the most violent 24-hour periods of 2019 that left six people dead and five others injured between April 6 and 7.
