INDIANAPOLIS -- A 29-year-old Indianapolis man was convicted Wednesday of a murder on the city’s east side in May 2016.
Carl Rice Jr., 31, was found fatally shot on May 23, 2016, in a house on Bankers Lane near Washington Street.
Police arrested 29-year-old Robert Curry on a preliminary charge of murder two days later in Miamisburg, Ohio.

Investigators said Curry shot Rice in the chest during a physical altercation.
Two other people were also arrested in connection with Rice’s death. Mariah Echols pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit battery in October 2017. Alexis Cole pleaded guilty to carrying a handgun without a license, assisting a criminal and intimidation. Both testified against Curry at trial.
Curry was scheduled to be sentenced March 23 at 10 a.m. in Marion County Criminal Court 1.
