INDIANAPOLIS -- A man shot last month during a robbery on the northeast side has died of his injuries, Indianapolis police say.
Chad Laplante, 40, was critically injured on Jan. 9 in a shooting in the 3100 block of Arthington Boulevard.
A witness told investigators that he and Laplante had arranged to buy a gaming system. When they arrived at the location, he said they were held up at gunpoint by two men. The witness told police Laplante was shot as he attempted to run away.
Laplante was taken to Community East Hospital, and later transported to Methodist Hospital for surgery.
On Tuesday, IMPD said Laplante had died of his injuries, making him the 19th criminal homicide of the year in Indianapolis.
