CLARKSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Police say a man who refused to drop a gun was fatally shot by an officer in southern Indiana.

Indiana State Police say local officers in Clarksville responded to a 911 call Friday night about a man who was inside a house with a gun and another person.

The man was in the doorway at one point but retreated into the house. Police say he emerged again and was shot after refusing to surrender a gun. He died at University of Louisville Hospital.
