Man injured in early-morning shooting on Interstate 65 in Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS — A man suffered non-life threatening injuries after he was shot early Monday while driving on Interstate 65 in Indianapolis, police said.

Indiana State Police investigators believe the incident happened either near Downtown Indianapolis on I-65 or near the interchange with I-65 and I-465 on the south side, according to a news release.

The victim arrived at an area hospital around 4 a.m.

State police said the suspect vehicle is believed to be a white Nissan or Ford passenger vehicle. The victim was driving a white Chevrolet Malibu. An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
