INDIANAPOLIS — Police are searching for answers after a deadly crash on the southwest side of Indianapolis.
Just after midnight, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of Kellum Drive and Mills Road to a person down. When officers arrived, they located an adult man who appeared to be suffering from trauma believed to be associated with a hit-and-run by a motorist, according to IMPD public information officer, Michael Hewitt.
Shortly after EMS arrived, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Upon further investigation, according to IMPD, the victim also may have been shot.
Hit-and-run and homicide detectives are investigating this case.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the victim's identity at a later time.
