INDIANAPOLIS — A man who was convicted of murder received a 65-year prison sentence Thursday.

Kenneth Branham was found guilty of murdering and robbing Scott Forsberg on June, 18 2018, on the east side of Indianapolis.

A release from the Marion County Prosecutor's Office said Branham and Forsberg were visiting a house in the 5900 block of East Washington Street. A witness said Forsberg left the house to go to the store.

When he returned, Branham picked up a gun that was laying on a table and shot Forsberg. Branham kicked Forsberg in the head and searched his pockets and car before fleeing. The home's security system also captured the incident.

Forsberg died about a month later due to complications from the gunshot wound.

Investigators found Branham's Nike sandals and a wallet containing his identification card during a search of the crime scene.
