INDIANAPOLIS — A man was shot multiple times after getting into an argument with another man early Monday morning.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 800 block of South Tremont Street for a report of a person shot around 4:30 a.m.

Arriving officers located a man who had been shot multiple times. He was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries. His condition is unknown but he was stable at the time he was transported, police say.

Shortly after the shooting, witnesses told detectives that a 40-year-old man was responsible for the shooting. Those witnesses say the suspect showed up at the house and got into an argument with the victim, then shot him.

The suspect was located walking several blocks from the shooting scene and arrested. His charges will be determined by the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.
