INDIANAPOLIS — A man suspected of firing at Indianapolis police officers during a vehicle chase this week is under arrest.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, Kevin Brewer was located and arrested Thursday for the attempted murder of several officers.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon and covered a large area of the city's northeast and northwest sides.

IMPD officers were in the area of East 30th Street and North Keystone Avenue when they tried to make a traffic stop on a Ford Fusion Brewer was driving. According to police, Brewer did not stop and instead took officers on a crosstown chase that ended near West 32nd Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Street.

During the pursuit, shots were fired at police from the suspect vehicle at the intersection of North College Avenue and Fairfield. At least one other shot was fired at the spot where the chase ended.

No officers were injured and Brewer fled the scene only to be arrested Thursday.
