INDIANAPOLIS — The death of a man almost four weeks after being critically injured in a fire at an Indianapolis home is being investigated as a homicide.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a gas station in the 4800 block of West 30th Street for a report of an injured person at the same time firefighters were called to a home on Beasley Drive for a residential fire.
Police say the victim, Trevor Shaw, 23, suffered extensive burns in the fire and he was rushed to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition.
Arson investigators immediately began their investigation, according to police.
Nearly four weeks later, on September 11, Shaw died from his injuries.
The Marion County Coroner has identified Shaw's death as a homicide.
