One critical and one dead in northwest side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — Two people were shot on the city's northwest side on Monday night, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Right before 8 p.m., IMPD officers were called to the 3400 block of Marabou Mills Place for a person shot.

When officers arrived on the scene near west 34th street and Dandy trail, two people were found suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.

Indianapolis EMS pronounced one person dead at the scene, the second person was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, accroding to IMPD's Michael Hewitt.

Homicide detectives were on the scene speaking with potential witness.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will be assisting in determining the exact manner and cause of death of the victim.

The names of the victims will be released at a later time.
