INDIANAPOLIS — The most deadly year in Indianapolis history added another victim late Tuesday evening.

A man was shot in the 900 block of North Oakland Avenue. That's on the east side, near East 10th Street and North Rural.

According to a public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the victim, who appeared to be in his 20's, died at the scene.

The man was found outside a house. Police say some sort of argument prompted the shooting. There was no immediate word on possible suspects.

Police were called to the neighborhood after 10 p.m. Detectives began to look for possible witnesses to question.

The deadly shooting happened two hours after another incident. A Dollar Tree employee was shot and seriously wounded during a robbery at the store in the 7300 block of North Shadeland Avenue.
