One person dead, another critical after double shooting on Indianapolis' west side

INDIANAPOLIS — One person is dead and a second person is in critical condition after a double shooting on Indianapolis' west side early Thursday morning.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to a location in the 1200 block of West 29th Street around 2:30 a.m. for a report of someone that had been shot. Arriving officers found two men suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency personnel transported both men to the hospital.

The Marion County Coroner's Office said 23-year-old Aaron Cooper died, while the other man was last listed in critical condition.

The details surrounding the shooting have not been released and it remains under investigation by IMPD.
