HOPE — One person is dead and a second person has been injured in a double stabbing in Bartholomew County.
The Bartholomew County Sheriff's deputies were called to the scene on Scott Street in Hope for a possible domestic situation in which somebody was stabbed.
Deputies arrived and found one person dead at the scene. A second person was transported to Columbus Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No identities have been released at this time.
One person has been taken into custody and deputies say there is no danger to the public, although they have not said whether the individual is a suspect.
Investigators are not releasing a motive, but they say the deaths and situation remains under investigation by the Bartholomew County Death Investigation Team which includes the Bartholomew County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police, Columbus Police Department, Bartholomew County Coroner's Office and the Bartholomew County Prosecutor's Office.
