INDIANAPOLIS — A man is dead following a Saturday night shooting on the Indianapolis east side.
Police were called to 3046 Eastern Avenue after 8 p.m. A public information officer for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the victim had been shot outside a house which is near East 30th Street and North Keystone Avenue.
The victim was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.
Robert Christian III, 23, was killed in the incident, Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfie McGinty said.
Detectives were talking to as many witnesses as possible, as an emotional scene developed outside the house when relatives and friends of the man showed up.
It was the second shooting in that area of the city in less than six hours. Earlier, a person was seriously wounded in a shooting near East 30th and Station Street.
