Person killed in shooting on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS — A man who was shot Friday night on the northwest side of Indianapolis has died.

Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called to an apartment complex at 4682 Edwardian Circle just before 10:30 p.m. Officers found a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD said homicide detectives learned the man was working on a vehicle in the parking lot when another man approached and shot him.

The Marion County Coroner's Office will release the victim's name after his family is notified.
