Person seriously wounded in east side Indianapolis shooting

INDIANAPOLIS — A person was seriously wounded in a shooting on the Indianapolis east side early Friday evening.

It was at least the fourth shooting in the city since mid-afternoon. One incident, at East 46th Street and North College Avenue, left a person dead.

Police were called to 511 North Gladstone Avenue at about 6 p.m. Friday. That's in the Tuxedo Park neighborhood, between Sherman Drive and North Emerson Avenue and near East Michigan Street.

A person had been shot and was described as in critical condition by a public information offices for the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. The victim was rushed to a hospital.

There is no information yet on what led up to the shooting or whether a suspect has been arrested.
